The Rising is...

...the High School Community of Northside Christian Church in New Albany, Indiana.

Our hope is simple...

...to be a generation rising to love God and the things that He loves.  
 
When we come to a place where we see who He is and what He has done we can’t help but respond by pouring out our lives for Him…by serving others…by praying for our persecutors…by going to tell the Good News that there is hope and truth and freedom found in Christ.  When we see who He is…our response is love. And so the students of the rising are challenged to be less about talking and more about being…about doing…about allowing God to restore us and call us out of comfort and into action.
 
We live in a broken world.  Every day 16,000 children die from hunger related causes…one child every 5 seconds.  Over 1 billion people live on less than 1 dollar a day.  There are places in our world that have no access to clean drinking water.  Abuse is real.  Divorce rips apart families.  Violence and addiction and Godlessness are real.  Our world is broken and in need of a Savior.  Praise be to God that Jesus is our Hope...He is our Redeemer and our Restorer.  Praise be to God that He is called us to be His hands and His feet.  He has called us to be a light in the darkness (matthew 5.13-14).  He has called us to go and make disciples (matthew 28.18-20).  He has called us to something more than existence…but a missionary life with Him.
